Our students are of all ages and skill levels. It doesn't matter if you're 6
or 60, the program is designed so that you can start at any time and attend any
class appropriate to your belt level and still progress at your own pace.
The instructors at our dojo are JKA rated Black Belts and know exactly what it takes to help you achieve your goals. No matter how far they progress in their training everyone remembers what it is like to begin as a White Belt and the student support network is there at every turn.
The program consists of 3 main elements kihon waza
(basics techniques), katas (pre-arranged routines), and kihon & jiyu kumite
(basic & free sparring). Within these 3
elements are the self-defense techniques that will help you learn how to avoid
dangerous situations or defend against aggressors.

What's a Tiny Tiger?
We have a program for children 4-7 years of age. It is specially designed to teach your child focus and discipline while still having fun. They'll be having so much fun they won't even realize that they're learning to listen and follow instructions, as well as develop agility, balance, and coordination! Children who have graduated from the Tiny Tiger program into the kyu belt program (regular karate program) exhibit maturity and discipline beyond their years.
Children with ADD or other attention related difficulties?
Children with difficulty focusing and short attention spans often benefit
from martial arts training. With the support and dedication of a good instructor
these children will learn skills that will remain with them throughout their
lifetime. Karate is not just about learning a martial art, it is about learning
life skills to help students productively participate in their community. The
repetition, organization, and consistency of the classes will make your child
feel safe and comfortable, as well as the feeling of belonging.

Low self-esteem
Children and adults who lack personal confidence will find that martial
arts training will increase their self-esteem tremendously. Not only do students
become incredibly fit with the best all-body workout in a short period of time,
but they feel more secure in knowing that they will be able to protect
themselves under a variety of circumstances, most notably by recognizing and
avoiding confrontations. They learn that it is strength, not cowardice, to walk
away from a volatile situation or individual.
